‘Bristol Asylum, Case Studies' is a series of oil paintings of patients who were residents at Bristol Asylum in the 19th century. The paintings are produced from photographs included in the patients' admission books, now housed at Bristol Archives. The project highlights those on the fringes of society, challenging traditional, hierarchical assumptions about the subjects of portraiture and reconsidering whose likeness is deemed worthy of remembrance. My landscapes are informed the many regions I have explored. My approach is intuitive and utilises painting techniques that emulate the transformative effects of light, weather, time and human intervention on a landscape.
Please note that delivery is not included in the price. Delivery costs will be the responsibility of the buyer. The delivery method and payment will be arranged with Parker Harris after purchase, and Parker Harris will contact all buyers once their purchase is complete. Buyers will not receive the work until after the exhibition at Wells Cathedral closes on Saturday 7 November 2026. Works can be collected from Wells Cathedral on Sunday 8 or Monday 9 November 2026, 9.30am–4.30pm.
