White wall gallery in the Cathedral Cloister, 2022

Wells Art Contemporary’s 2026 show will be open every day between 10 October and 7 November 2025 at Wells Cathedral, the first Gothic cathedral in England.

As well as a white wall gallery on three sides of the Cloisters there are amazing site-specific art installations around and outside of the building.

The Cathedral is open from 9am to 4.30pm seven days a week.  Please be aware that it is a working building.  If you are planning to visit, note that parts of the building (and therefore some of the artwork installations) are not accessible during the Cathedral’s public services and that very occasionally the entire building is closed to public access due to a major event taking place.

Before travelling please check the timings of public services and the event closures diary. It is already known that there will be no access to the show on Monday 26th October and limited access from 1pm on Saturday 7th November.

Note that Wells Cathedral charges for admission to raise the £8,000 a day it costs to keep this historic and beautiful building open to all. Entry will be free for under 18’s and those with a valid admission pass.
