This work was developed from drawings made at Drawing Matter when it was still based at Shatwell Farm. I spent a year between lockdowns informally visiting, taking photographs and making drawings on site. Through a process of experimentation I made watercolours, drawings, collages and prints until the initial shapes of the arches in the cowbarn had become almost completely abstracted. A roof over our heads is a fundamental human right, which was never more obvious than when the whole country was shut down. The whole series of works from that time, bear the title 'Shelter'. A reminder to provide homes.
