I make all my own paints using pure pigments from around the world. I believe that painting is a human language that will never disappear. By engaging with the materials, an artist is able to communicate a hidden world. An alchemy takes place when colour fuses with the artist’s imagination into visual poetry. This work is my conversation with the early English mystics who, I believe, are just as relevant today as they were six centuries ago. Their writings offer hope for a new generation suffering in this age of uncertainty. I am currently Visiting Professor at Arts University Plymouth.
