The work is grounded in an intense and deeply personal approach to the process and the craft of painting/art. The paintings are interchanges between external events, observations and my inner life of experiences and memories. I spend a great deal of time observing the very particular landscape, horizon line and sky/night space that surrounds my studio, located close to the border between the north and south of Ireland - I’m very conscious of the personal significance of this place, its history and how time has impacted both the place and the memories.
