My practice explores the relationship between material, repetition and observation. Working across drawing and sculpture, I use repetition to build forms that accumulate, compress and disperse, shifting between density and fragility, order and uncertainty. More recently, I have used steel pins as drawn marks, allowing light to become an active part of the work. Cast shadows extend and transform the drawing, shifting with the light. I am interested in the point where material becomes trace, and how the changing relationship between object, shadow and light invites sustained observation.
