Catherine Chambers is a figurative painter based in London. She has a BA(Hons) Drawing and Applied Arts. Chambers won third prize for the National Portrait Gallery’s Herbert Smith Freehills award and was selected as a Rising Star by the Royal Society of British Artists in 2024. Chambers is inspired by people within their environments, embracing subjects that are common the world over including self-awareness, aspirations, security and beliefs. Her paintings are built on close contact with subjects and echo her own experiences. She is interested in finding and celebrating connections.
