Life experiences inform her work, in particular, the shifting perceptual conditions of underwater observation. Immersed underwater, the visible becomes mutable: refracted by light, disturbed by motion, dissolved by elemental forces. This is reflected in her work which presents the emergence and dissolution of forms and settings. Employing a process of layering, erasure and concealment, perceptions of time, place and space are challenged, creating a tension between figuration and abstraction. Her paintings occupy a threshold between tangible impressions, traces of memory and imagination.
