Steam bent bamboo cast into bronze, wood

My sculptures are not in themselves kinetic but seek to capture a fleeting moment, engaging with the suspension of movement by fixing a physical interpretation of a brief and transitory fragment in time. They are abstract constructions, engaging with a wide variety of materials and employing diverse construction methods. Sheils, originally a steam-bent bamboo construction, was cast into bronze, fixing that moment permanently. In Cha, the wood was deliberately and carefully burnt to create a distinctive contrast with the stone.
