W. Stella Arion - Unheld

£6,800.00

Black stoneware, layered experimental glazes, steel support structure

50 x 65 x 120 cm

Unheld approaches time as a pressure we cannot step outside of. We measure it, remember the past and imagine the future, yet the present dissolves as soon as we try to hold it. The black ceramic form is both broken and fluid: a body caught between collapse and continuity, presence and disappearance. Placed above the tomb, it connects the cathedral’s accumulated history with the uncertain time ahead. The work asks not what time is, but how it holds us: suspended, unable to stop, possess or fully understand the moment we inhabit.

Please note that delivery is not included in the price. Delivery costs will be the responsibility of the buyer. The delivery method and payment will be arranged with Parker Harris after purchase, and Parker Harris will contact all buyers once their purchase is complete. Buyers will not receive the work until after the exhibition at Wells Cathedral closes on Saturday 7 November 2026. Works can be collected from Wells Cathedral on Sunday 8 or Monday 9 November 2026, 9.30am–4.30pm.
