Threads
499 x 500 x 60 cm
The sanctuary is filled with light. And, the courtyard is filled with the breeze. I visualise invisible elements—such as light and wind—using threads.
Inside the sanctuary, where the light shifts and changes, threads are strung at regular intervals. The screens of threads present the shifting light to people in a more striking way - an experience akin to religious ecstasy.
And, in the transept, threads are strung at equal intervals between wooden frames. This serves to visualise the light and wind drifting into the space. It is, indeed, akin to a kind of religious ecstasy.
Please note that delivery is not included in the price. Delivery costs will be the responsibility of the buyer. The delivery method and payment will be arranged with Parker Harris after purchase, and Parker Harris will contact all buyers once their purchase is complete. Buyers will not receive the work until after the exhibition at Wells Cathedral closes on Saturday 7 November 2026. Works can be collected from Wells Cathedral on Sunday 8 or Monday 9 November 2026, 9.30am–4.30pm.
