D. Clio Lloyd-Jacob & Noor Ali Chagani - One of Us

£10,000.00

Ceramic, jute

36 x 65 x 170 cm

This building already embodies duration, inheritance, adaptation, hopes, anxieties, need, the infinite and the immeasurable.

Our work seeks to make this visible. Time is contained in signs of repetitive labour: brick-making, threading, fixing, and of damage. Time’s endless cycles of death, loss, and renewal are suggested by the concealed but visible human life (and death) below it. Contemporary bricks contrast with surrounding stonework to suggest our adaptation over time. Bricks flowing like fabric challenge parameters we take for granted, and invite us into a liminal space where clock time is suspended for us and for the unseen sleeper or corpse.

Please note that delivery is not included in the price. Delivery costs will be the responsibility of the buyer. The delivery method and payment will be arranged with Parker Harris after purchase, and Parker Harris will contact all buyers once their purchase is complete. Buyers will not receive the work until after the exhibition at Wells Cathedral closes on Saturday 7 November 2026. Works can be collected from Wells Cathedral on Sunday 8 or Monday 9 November 2026, 9.30am–4.30pm.
