Marble stone
120 x 30 x 30 cm
This sculptural stone carving is a transcription of the painting by Rubens, The Fall of the Damned, translating the painting's cascading moment of bodies into marble as a dialogue between artists across centuries.
Stone sculpture embodies the notion of time: in the formation of the material, in the slow emergence of form within the artist's mind, and in the work's unfolding in space. Its materiality allows it to outlast the fleeting nature of human experience, creating a tension between permanence and transience.
Please note that delivery is not included in the price. Delivery costs will be the responsibility of the buyer. The delivery method and payment will be arranged with Parker Harris after purchase, and Parker Harris will contact all buyers once their purchase is complete. Buyers will not receive the work until after the exhibition at Wells Cathedral closes on Saturday 7 November 2026. Works can be collected from Wells Cathedral on Sunday 8 or Monday 9 November 2026, 9.30am–4.30pm.
